About Our Founder
"Hi Everyone! My name is Fallyn Fossum, and I couldn’t be more excited to share my
Foundation with all of you. Since 2018, Fallyn’s Forget Me Not Foundation advocates
for those with Brain Traumas, specifically through the Alzheimer’s Association and
Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
Throughout my life, I had the blessing of having a wonderful Grandmother. But our
relationship wasn’t like a normal Grandmother-Granddaughter relationship. Ours was
rather tainted by Alzheimer’s Disease. Having the diagnosis since before I was born,
unfortunately, we never had the opportunity to interact as her true self. My memories
of my Grandmother are different from everyone else who knew and loved her, because
of this disease. But we certainly did not let that stop us from having the best years together!
Birthdays were celebrated, meals were shared, and hugs were given constantly.
Until October 21st, 2016 when God called her home. Alzheimer’s Disease & a Brain Aneurysm
are what sadly took her away from us that day. Realizing this, I came to the conclusion that
I did not want any other family to go through the pain mine did for the last 16 years.
So I then developed my journey with the Alzheimer’s Association and have been heavily
involved ever since.
But there was still something inside me that was saying- I could do more. During my Grandmother’s later years, she joined a local senior home, where we made friends with the ladies who were also a part of the program. After years of visiting her, we realized that for a lot of these ladies- my Mother and I were truly their only visitors. In a sense, they were being “Forgotten.” Well, we didn’t. Since this moment, we have now partnered with the Meals On Wheels Foundation of Placer County, and Seniors First where we deliver Handmade Cards, Easter and Christmas Baskets, and so much more to our Homebound Seniors in Placer County which is over 400 people. Even the smallest card can make such an impact for the better!
Years go by, and Seniors are beginning to realize that they are not forgotten!
And then, my family’s world was rocked to its core when on January 10th, 2022 my Father suffered a Brain Aneurysm and a Stroke. Miraculously, he survived what most couldn't. The first 24 Hours. Brain Aneurysms are incredibly difficult to discover on your own, unless you have been through this before. And for us, we did with my Grandmother. That was the only way my Mother recognised the signs and symptoms my father had that night. Not because we were told to look for those signs- but because we already suffered a loss of a loved one the same way. We rushed him to the hospital in the middle of the night, where after many hours, tears shed, and all hands on deck, he survived! The next 9 months, my Father was fighting his hardest to recover from the hardest battle he had ever faced. There were many ups, but also our share of lows. After multiple implications, 2 more minor strokes, and day after day spent fighting, God decided it was time for him to come home as well. It was incredibly hard having to come to terms that his body couldn’t continue to fight. Because we knew that if it was up to my Father, he would do anything and everything to be here. But sadly, this was not our destiny.
As you could probably imagine, my wheels began to turn with a passion of wanting to bring light and awareness to Brain Aneurysms and Strokes. We shouldn’t have to lose someone to understand the signs and symptoms of a Brain Injury. And that is my goal- to educate the public so that others know when it’s time to save their loved ones life. Minutes are crucial when it comes to Brain Aneurysms.

Although, I did not want to just leave my work with the Alzheimer’s Association. And that is when I came to the realization that Brain Aneurysms and Alzheimer’s Disease have something in common. They are both BRAIN TRAUMAS! So now, Fallyn’s Forget Me Not Foundation advocates for those with Brain Traumas.
